About Elin
Elin was born and raised on Haida Gwaii, a remote archipelago just under Alaska on the Pacific Northwest Coast. She has lived most of her life in her hometown, Daajing Giids, but has also traveled worldwide, living in Finland for two years, sailing the coast of Europe, and working in Asia.
Elin has a deep passion for health, writing, traveling, art, music, acting, hiking, and sailing. She has many passions, hobbies, and projects, and she finds the balance between acupressure and health - and writing and creative endeavors gratifying.
Elin was initially studying cultural anthropology, but through her archaeology course, she was led back to the incredible and ancient knowledge of Chinese Medicine. Elin couldn’t help but change her study after learning more about the history of Chinese Medicine and evidence of acupoints being used 5,600 years ago.
Elin loved receiving acupuncture treatments but was more intrigued with the idea of original acupressure points: how human touch can influence the release of endorphins and calm cardiovascular stress. She enrolled in the Five Elements Acupressure program and obtained her diploma through the Canadian Acupressure College in 2022. Elin has grown immensely passionate about acupressure, the Five Elements system, and the unique acupressure patterns she learned from her teacher, Kathy De’Bucy.
The main focus of her work is to help others feel more capable and in charge of their own health. Elin deeply understands how much injuries and health can weigh people down, both physically and emotionally, because she has had chronic pain for more than half of her life. However, through Elin’s personal health breakthroughs, she believes that acupressure and the Five Elements theory can help others as much as it has helped her.
Elin currently lives in Daajing Giids with her partner Jesse and their dog Jeimba and spends her days writing, editing documentaries, and offering acupressure treatments.
